My purpose of teaching is to help students achieve learning goals and develop life-long skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. I formulate teaching approaches by a) creating a welcoming environment, b) engaging multiple modes of teaching, and c) cultivating independent thinking for my students. My teaching experiences granted me opportunities to help students learn while supporting my growth as a teacher.

“Having the rhythm of this writing group provided a sense of community and continuity for me this summer. I couldn’t always make it, but I always knew when it was going and mentally checked in with myself. Being in the trenches of dissertation writing was a little less painful thanks to this group. Thank you so much, Dan!“
“I was just wondering if you were thinking of putting together another writing group this semester as well? I have found it really helpful and would love to continue it if possible. Even if that means I take the lead.“
