Hi there! I am Dan Wang, Ph.D., CFLE.
My Chinese name is 王丹. You can hear my name.
Since 2022, I have been an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Oklahoma. My research focuses on child and family health and well-being. During this time, I founded the Soil, Roots, and Leaves (SRL) Family Research Group in 2025 for interdisciplinary collaboration.
I have the credential of Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), which is recognized in the U.S. and Canada for Family Life Education professions and certified by the National Council on Family Relations.
In 2017 to 2022, I had my interdisciplinary doctoral training in the Department of Child Youth and Family Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My program was in Human Sciences with a specialization in Global Family Health and Wellbeing a minor in Quantitative, Qualitative, and Psychometric Methods.
Before joining the doctoral program, I served as an assistant project manager in Gallup Corporation in Shanghai office in China from 2014 to 2017. I oversaw evaluation projects on customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and strength-based training.
In my free time, I enjoy road trip, reading, and playing with my dog and cat.
